Go Elsewhere
The International Civil Rights Center and Museum is dedicated to the struggle of the civil rights era and an ode to the Greensboro Four’s contribution. In 1960, there were a series of nonviolent protests and sit-ins that served as a catalyst for the civil rights movement. The sit-ins happened at the former lunch counter of F.W. Woolworth’s, which is now the same building as the center. The historic site is a city and country favorite and you can’t beat the experiences you’ll have once you’re there.

Famous Waffles and Brews
The "almost famous" chicken and waffles at Dame's Chicken and Waffles may not be the originator of chicken and waffles, but they have so many different spins on the classics dish that you will be close to giving them the crown after taking a taste of their menu selections. They have perfected chicken and waffles and have a ton of variations on both the chicken and waffle, not to mention the additional topper to ensure their dishes are one-of-a-kind. They like to call those toppers “shmears.” Shmears are flavored kinds of butter so good this place promises you’ll forget about the syrup. Shmear flavors come in strawberry-crème, chocolate-hazelnut, maple-pecan, and vanilla-almond just to name a few.
