Take some time to learn about Oakland’s history and step aboard the USS Potomac. Known as “the floating White House” because it was owned by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, you can now come aboard and take a history cruise on the San Francisco Bay. Cruises include a box lunch and learning about the bridges of the bay while taking in the sights.

Plank is one of the newest additions to Jack London Square and it offers over 50,000-sqft of fun and food. The gastropub offers a variety of ways to enjoy a night on the town. There are both indoor and outdoor spaces depending on what kind of night you have in mind. Inside there’s an 18-lane bowling alley, an arcade, and billiards, while outside there’s an outside bar and beer garden to enjoy the weather and play a game of bocce.

Fairyland and First Fridays
Children's Fairyland is where the imagination can run wild. All of your childhood stories have come to life. There are 60 storybook sets featuring some classic tales like Peter Rabbit’s Garden, Jack & Jill Hill, and Willie in the Whale. There are kiddie rides, a petting zoo, a 10-acre garden for kids to explore. There are also occasional events and performances, like puppet shows and children’s theatre.

Schedule time for Oakland's First Fridays and celebrate the city’s culture and community. On the first Friday of every month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. the streets of Oakland crowd with vendors, artists, DJs, poets, local culinary artisans, and dancers for an experience you won’t forget. It's free and open to the public and has designated zones for kids to enjoy. Every month there’s a new lineup of vendors and artists, so if you want to visit once or make it a reoccurring trip you’ll have new experiences with each visit.
