Located on the north side of the Arkansas River, North Little Rock — often referred to as "NLR" — is the twin city of Little Rock and a vibrant destination in its own right. Though briefly annexed by Little Rock in the late 19th century, it regained its independence in the early 20th century. Today, it offers visitors a blend of history, culture, and recreation. The city is easily accessible and well-served by Greyhound bus services, making it a convenient stop on your travels.

Getting Around Little Rock

Once you arrive in Little Rock by Greyhound, getting around the city and exploring its attractions is simple and convenient. A variety of transport options make it easy to navigate both Little Rock and neighbouring North Little Rock.

Public Transit: Rock Region METRO

Rock Region METRO is Central Arkansas’s public transportation system, serving Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle, Jacksonville, Sherwood, and Pulaski County. Each year, it carries around 3 million passengers, providing reliable daily bus services for residents and visitors alike. The network is inclusive and designed to meet the needs of all travellers, including seniors and people with disabilities.

METRO Streetcar

For a more scenic way to explore the city, hop on the METRO Streetcar. Covering 3.4 miles and connecting Little Rock with North Little Rock, this charming streetcar system serves about 100,000 riders annually. It crosses the Arkansas River and links many popular downtown destinations, including Argenta Historic District. The streetcar offers a unique and relaxed way to experience the vibrant heart of the "twin cities", North Little Rock and Little Rock.
