The World War II Memorial honors the 16 million people who supported the war efforts including both the armed forces and the civilians back home. It’s open 24-hours a day and is free to the public, so you can take in this beautiful memorial whenever you have a moment.

Senate Park
Located near Union Station and the U.S. Capitol, Senate Park is full of beauty and discovery. Stroll through the park and enjoy the views of the Lower Senate Gardens and the Capitol or visit the rectangle reflecting pool. Another must-see while visiting Senate Park is the Senate Park Fountain, which first operated in 1932.

The Yards Park
Located in Capitol Riverfront along the Anacostia River, The Yards Park is full of spacious green areas for you to explore while enjoying the D.C. sunshine. This park also includes water features such as dancing fountains and an 11-inch-deep canal that children can swim and play in. The Eisenhower Executive Office Building is one of the great pieces of architecture in the city that once housed the Navy departments, the War Department, and still has the Harry S. Truman Bowling Alley inside. It’s a beautiful place to take a great photo. Although touring isn’t available, the view from the outside it worth stopping by and admiring.

Tidal Basin
Rent a pedal boat and explore Tidal Basin. As you pedal through the water you can soak up the views of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial, and the Washington Monument. If you want to spend quality time with your sweetheart, rent a swan boat. Another beautiful view you will see is the Cherry Blossom Trees along the Tidal Basin, which are celebrated in early spring with the Cherry Blossom Tree Festival.
