Greyhound Returns Service To Annapolis, Joins Transit Facility
DALLAS (Sept. 5, 2000) --- Greyhound Lines, Inc. announces the opening of its 88th intermodal, a shared transportation facility, in Annapolis, Md. The grand opening ceremony will be held on Sept. 12th at the Try Transit Week Bus Expo at City Dock. Greyhound will share the 308 Chinquapin Round Rd. location with the Annapolis Department of Transportation.

"Greyhound is leading the charge to create intermodal transportation facilities," said Ray Robinson, district manager, customer service. "We are glad to be partnering with Annapolis Transit to offer our passengers a more convenient travel experience, whether by intercity bus or local transit."

The new service will provide residents three departures to and from Ocean City, Md. and other beach resorts on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. Four daily schedules will leave for Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, with connections to New York, Boston and the rest of the nationwide network. Annapolis Transit passengers can reach Greyhound via the Brown route bus.

"After an 18 year absence it is great to welcome Greyhound back to Annapolis," said Dean L. Johnson, mayor of Annapolis. "As a daily Greyhound passenger years ago, I personally am pleased that we are expanding the transportation alternatives for moving to, from and around Annapolis. We are a Navy town where the words - See the World - have a special meaning. Now they can also mean Greyhound."

"It is great that Greyhound has come back to Annapolis," said Danielle Matland, director, Annapolis Department of Transportation. "Greyhound provides the vital link connecting Annapolis to cities through the US, even in Canada and Mexico."

Greyhound Lines, Inc. is the largest North American provider of intercity bus transportation, serving more than 3,700 destinations with 20,000 daily departures across the continent. The company also provides package and courier express service, charter and tour services and food service at certain terminals.
