Colorful bus wrap, additional departures offer customers new options
RENO (July 9, 1999)-Greyhound Lines and the Sands Regency Hotel and Casino expand their relationship Monday, July 12, when a specially wrapped bus to promote the casino hits the road at 10 a.m.
The brightly-colored bus will be unveiled at a special celebration in front of the casino Monday as the two companies celebrate the success of the direct bus service Greyhound began earlier this year from the Bay Area of California to the Sands Regency.
"Greyhound is excited to be able to provide 17 departures a day on weekends and 12 departures a day during the week to passengers visiting the Sands Regency," said Mike Abercrombie, manager, special services.
As the number of passengers to Reno grows, Greyhound plans to add additional service, offering hourly departures from the Bay Area later this summer.
Passengers who travel Greyhound receive $10 match play, $3 food credit and special room rates at the casino. Round-trip fares from the Bay Area range from $22 to $29.
The Sands Regency Hotel and Casino is located at 345 N. Arlington Avenue. Greyhound tickets may be purchased in the casino gift shop.
Greyhound is the only nationwide provider of intercity bus transportation, serving more than 3,700 destinations with 21,000 daily departures in North America. The company also provides package express service, charter service and food service at certain terminals.
