DALLAS (Oct. 20, 2009) – Holiday travelers this year will be greeted at the airport with record-high fares, new fees and surcharges, and the usual frustrations of cancelled flights. As families look to save money while keeping their cherished holiday traditions, Greyhound is committed to making travel simple and cost effective this season.
“Major airline carriers are increasing their prices and implementing higher fees this year,” said Dave Leach, president and CEO, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “Greyhound is focused on convenience and value to help bring families together for the holidays.”
Some of the charges awaiting travelers this holiday season include fees for blankets and pillows, extra charges to book your flight over the phone, and higher fares for picking your seat or enjoying extra legroom. Greyhound offers the flexibility to travel with extra luggage and the first bag is always free. Passengers also can board with wrapped holiday gifts and don’t have to worry about being stuck in a middle seat, while enjoying extra room to stretch out.
