DALLAS (May 4, 2006) – Greyhound Lines, Inc. today launched Road Rewards, a new Web-based program to reward loyal customers who purchase tickets on Greyhound.com. Customers with a membership in the program can earn rewards from discounted food and beverages in Greyhound terminals to free tickets.
“Greyhound continues to connect with its customers by offering a more enjoyable travel experience, and Road Rewards is a part of this effort,” said Toby Purdy, senior vice president of marketing, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “This program allows us to reward loyalty, encouraging our most frequent riders to continue to choose Greyhound while attracting new customers.”
Customers receive points every time they purchase a Greyhound ticket online and take a trip. Points can be applied toward free trips, discounts on companion fares, and discounts at any Greyhound food service location.
Road Rewards members can view their points and rewards by clicking on the Road Rewards link at Greyhound.com. Points accumulate and are good for a year. Other terms and conditions apply, and customers are invited to visit the Web site for more details.
“The number of passengers buying tickets online is growing rapidly, and this is an added incentive to purchase travel through our Web site,” said Purdy. “Just by riding the bus, customers can earn their way toward a free trip. The more they ride, the more rewards they earn.”
Greyhound enlisted the services of Intrasight, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., for program administration, and Slingshot, LLC, of Dallas to develop and manage the Road Rewards Web site.
Greyhound is the largest North American provider of intercity bus transportation, serving more than 2,400 destinations with 16,000 daily departures across the continent.
