Greyhound, NCLR and Inner-City Arts Showcase Latino Heritage Through Student Artwork on Display in Los Angeles
 
Greyhound Lines, Inc., the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and Inner-City Arts are showcasing local artistic talent through the Greyhound Community Reflections Mural Program. Greyhound worked with local artist Yolanda Gonzalez, Inner-City Arts and students from Tenth Street Elementary School to create the mural, which will be on permanent display at the Los Angeles Greyhound terminal. The program provides student artists across the nation the opportunity to create murals that capture the spirit of their community.

The Greyhound Community Reflections Mural Program showcases Latino artistic talent by creating murals on bus terminals throughout the United States. These murals reflect the important contributions that Latinos make in building culturally rich communities. Greyhound supports the program because it spotlights young artists and gives back to the community art centers and educational institutions that teach young students valuable life skills.

Inner-City Arts is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit arts education center that annually provides after-school and weekend programs for more than 8,000 at-risk youth from low-income neighborhoods in Los Angeles, Calif. The organization's student population is 94 percent Latino, and attends visual and performing arts classes that are designed to support language acquisition, while promoting creative expression and improved self-esteem.
