Greyhound Begins New Service at New Carrollton, Maryland, Metro Station, Offering a Convenient Alternative to its Washington, D.C. Terminal

Beginning Sept. 17, Greyhound Lines, Inc. will offer intercity bus service for the first time in New Carrollton, Md., at the New Carrollton Metro Station. The intermodal transportation center, located at 4700 Garden City Drive in Lanham, Md., also serves as the local hub for Metrorail and bus, Amtrak, MARC Commuter Rail and the Prince George County Bus.

"We are excited to serve the New Carrollton community," said Stephen Gorman, president and chief executive officer, Greyhound. "Our partnership with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is a shining example of how Greyhound collaborates with other modes of transportation to provide customers seamless, affordable connections, in one convenient location. This is our second Capitol Beltway operation of this kind and we anticipate that the New Carrollton service will be just as successful as the Metro Franconia/Springfield Station in Northern Virginia."

The new Greyhound ticketing and customer service center will operate daily from 6:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. It will offer 21 daily schedules Monday through Thursday and 26 schedules on the weekends to destinations including New York, N.Y., Philadelphia, Penn., Atlantic City, N.J., beach resort cities such as Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Ocean City, Md., and other points along the Eastern Shore.

Customers who find it more convenient can take a bus from the New Carrollton Metro Station to the Washington, D.C. bus terminal where they can make connections to travel anywhere in the Greyhound network.

The Greyhound facility also provides Greyhound PackageXpress (GPX) package delivery service.

Greyhound participates in more than 100 intermodals across the country. Intermodals provide seamless, door-to-door transportation for travelers under one roof by offering on-site connections to airlines, transit buses, vans, subways, commuter rail, intercity rail, airport shuttles, regional bus lines and Greyhound intercity bus services.

Greyhound is the largest North American provider of intercity bus transportation, serving more than 3,600 destinations with 19,000 daily departures across the continent. The company also provides Greyhound PackageXpress in the United States and Greyhound Courier Service in Canada, as well as Greyhound Travel Services including: vacation packages, charters, sightseeing and shore services.
