DALLAS (Sept. 25, 2000) - Greyhound Lines, Inc. will celebrate the opening of its Springfield, Missouri terminal on Tuesday, September 26 during a dedication ceremony from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Remarks will be made from district manager, Richard Braun, with a special recognition program for those involved.
"The new facility is beautiful with floor to ceiling windows and a very unique design," said Sandra Vaughan, terminal manager. "The ceremony will give us a chance to thank the people involved who helped make this project possible."
Greyhound Lines' national Commercial Sales Center is also located in the terminal. The CSC has 25 employees who handle the company's pre-paid ticket orders for commercial customers around the U.S. such as Covenant Transport. The division anticipates revenues for fiscal year 2001 to exceed $10 million.
"The new terminal has improved our efficiency," said Jacqueline Uckele, manager, CSC. "We handle more than 1,000 calls a day and with our new phone system and cubicles that control outside noise, we can provide better customer service."
The Springfield terminal is located at 2425 East Kearney, near two major highways, Hwy. 65 and Hwy. 44, making access to the facility more convenient for passengers coming from the smaller communities.
Thirteen schedules are offered a day from Springfield with most popular destinations to Tulsa, Oklahoma, St. Louis, Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, Chicago and Memphis.
