DALLAS (Feb. 23, 2016) – Greyhound, the official bus company of the Harlem Globetrotters, is excited to welcome the fun, dynamic basketball team to its Richmond, Va. station on Thursday, Feb. 25 for an exclusive appearance. Special guests, students from George W. Carver Elementary, as well as customers, will have an opportunity to witness the team’s infectious personalities and signature ball-handling skills up close and personal.

“Inviting the Harlem Globetrotters to our terminal is always an exciting opportunity for students and customers waiting to travel,” said Tammy Durham, district manager, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “These appearances give kids an opportunity to see these athletes in a way they might not get the chance to otherwise. Not to mention, it’s always a fun surprise for customers to see Globetrotters perform before heading out of town.”

At 11 a.m. on Thursday, the Globetrotters will showcase their unique talent and incorporate character lessons that George W. Carver Elementary School students can take back to school and their community. Known as the “Ambassadors of Goodwill™,” the Globetrotters often combine valuable principles, such as responsibility, cooperation and sportsmanship, with an entertaining performance geared toward children.

“The Harlem Globetrotters are more than just entertaining basketball players,” said Globetrotters Showman Ant Atkinson. “One of the most rewarding things we do is interact with kids. We like to reach them early and give them character-building tools that help prepare them for situations they may encounter as young adults.”
