Greyhound Expands Service To New York From Springfield, Mass.

Largest intercity bus company in the Northeast adds additional route to New York’s George Washington Bridge Bus Station

Greyhound, the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in North America, today announced it has expanded service from Union Sta9-27-2017ion in Springfield, Mass. with the addition of a new route directly serving New York’s George Washington Bridge Bus Station. This new route is in addition to the recently launched service to New York from Springfield, which offers five daily round trips weekdays and seven round trips on weekends.

The company will offer one round trip per day to the George Washington Bridge Bus Station via connection in Hartford. The George Washington Bridge Bus Station, located in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York, is a convenient option for Springfield customers who wish to travel to New York and beyond, but do not need to go into downtown Manhattan. From there, customers can quickly connect to points south of New York such as Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC. The newly renovated station features easy access to the subway system, as well as several first-class national and local retail and services for customers and the surrounding community. When booking on to this location, customers simply choose New York GW Bridge as their destination.

“We’re excited to expand our New York service from Springfield, giving customers even more convenient choices for their travel needs,” said Andy Kaplinsky, chief commercial officer, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “We look forward to continuing our growth in Springfield, as more customers choose Greyhound for its low fares, Express routes and best-in-class bus service.”

As the low-cost original, Greyhound will continue to deliver everyday low prices on these routes like elsewhere across the nation.  Customers now also have access to E-Ticketing, where they can quickly and easily purchase tickets from and board the bus with just a flash of their mobile phones.
While on board, riders will travel in comfort on modern buses with free Wi-Fi, power outlets, reclining leather seats and extra legroom. In addition, the company is adding new buses in the Northeast, which will be equipped with on-board entertainment systems that enable customers to enjoy movies and television shows, play games, surf the Web, and read the latest news – all completely free and all from their own Wi-Fi enabled devices including laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Customers also will have access to Greyhound Package Express, Greyhound’s low-cost shipping service. Travelers can purchase tickets online at or the mobile app, over the phone at 1-800-231-2222 or at their local station.
