Greyhound, the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in North America, today announced it began operations from the new Springfield Union Station in Springfield, MA. Greyhound customers now can conveniently board at Union Station, located at 66 Lyman Street, about a quarter-mile away from the former facility at 1776 Main Street. The company also is expanding its presence in Springfield by offering nine new routes with more than 13 departures per day.
“As a native of the area, I know how important it is to the Springfield community to have safe, reliable and affordable bus service,” said Andy Kaplinsky, chief commercial officer, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “I am excited to finally be able to bring a renewed Greyhound Bus Lines to Springfield. Local residents will now be able to take advantage of a world class bus service to complement the new Union Station.”
From the new Springfield Union Station, Greyhound will expand its direct service to Boston, New York City and Albany, effective September 27th, and deliver everyday low prices like the company offers across the nation. Also coming soon will be ticketless travel, where customers can quickly and easily purchase tickets from Greyhound.com and board the bus with just a flash of their mobile phones.
Customers also will have access to Greyhound Package Express, Greyhound’s low-cost shipping service. Travelers can purchase tickets online at Greyhound.com or the mobile app, over the phone at 1-800-231-2222 or at their local station.
