DALLAS (Oct. 27, 2015) – Greyhound Lines, Inc. today announced the groundbreaking of Greyhound’s new Miami maintenance facility on Friday, Oct. 30, which will be located at 3846 NW 25th St. This is the first large Greyhound maintenance facility to be built from the ground up in the past 25 years. The company will host a ceremony to celebrate the momentous occasion, in which several city officials and Greyhound executives will be in attendance including a representative from the mayor’s office, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Miami Dade Police Department, Mike Walker, vice president of technical operations, Greyhound Lines, Inc. and Thomas Steidley, senior director of technical operations, Greyhound Lines, Inc.
“We are excited to begin construction on our new maintenance facility, which will provide support to our new terminal at the Miami Central Station that opened earlier this year,” said Evan Burak, regional vice president, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “This facility also is important because it will be the only major maintenance facility in the state of Florida, and it will serve as a relief site for the entire East Coast.”
The old maintenance facility is seven miles away, but this new facility will only be a half a mile away from Greyhound’s new terminal. Once complete, which is estimated to be in the summer of 2016, the new facility will have modern day garage equipment and systems, and will be able to perform all types of maintenance repairs with the exception of body and paint.
