New Orleans Greyhound Terminal Welcomes Harlem Globetrotters; The team will dazzle A.P. Tureaud Elementary School students with signature basketball tricks and character lessons.
DALLAS (Jan. 15, 2014) — For the fourth year in a row, the Harlem Globetrotters are just a few of the 18 million people who travel Greyhound. With both organizations having a history of bringing families together in their unique ways, Greyhound is proud to welcome the team to the New Orleans terminal and give students from A.P. Tureaud Elementary a front row seat for all the action on Friday, Jan.17.Before their evening show, the team will stop by the New Orleans terminal, located at 1001 Loyola avenue, for students of Tureaud Elementary and Greyhound customers'
But their tricks with a basketball aren't the only thing the team plans to showcase for the students. The Globetrotters incorporate their signature ball handling skills into character lessons the students can take back to their school with their community outreach program, "The ABCs of Bullying Prevention.""The Harlem Globetrotters are more than just entertaining basketball players. One of the most rewarding things we do is talk to kids," said Globetrotters Showman Hi-Lite Bruton. "We like to reach kids early in their lives and give them character-building tools to be upstanding members of society."
