Joins Cooperative; Upgrades Facilities
DALLAS (Aug. 8, 2000) - Greyhound Lines, Inc. relocated its Safford, Ariz. agency to Thatcher, Ariz. on Aug. 1. The agency is now located at 2155 West U.S. Highway 70, approximately two miles from the former agency.
The agency serves as an anchor for the new location of the Payback Cooperative, an organization owned and operated by the residents of Thatcher. The former bank building also houses offices for the officers of the co-op. By moving from the small service station, Greyhound passengers now have a larger waiting area and additional food options during layovers. The co-op also includes a car wash, convenience store, Quick Lube and gas station.
"The new agency is a win-win situation," said Mark Black, area sales manager. "Through the co-op, Greyhound is able to support the community, while offering passengers a more convenient, comfortable experience."
Six schedules depart daily, three east to San Antonio and three west to Phoenix. Through the Phoenix terminal, the agency provides residents of the greater-Safford area a fast, affordable connection to Sky Harbor Airport.
